Where do vegetables come from? 

Although they have their roots in Iran, greens are today recognized as an important aspect of Punjabi culture. mustard greens and cornbread is a traditional Punjabi dish. A little white butter, jaggery, or honey is recommended. In the winter, everyone drools over this particular combo. The combination of the two is a match made in heaven and is a comforting and satisfying meal that is perfect for a cold winter day.



Let's look at how this is created.

Sarson Ka Saag Aur Makki Ki Roti Recipe


Saag, also known as "saag paneer" or "Palak paneer," is made in the following 

ways:


Mustard greens (saag) recipe :

Ingredients: 

1 tablespoon vegetable oil; 1 medium onion, diced; 2 cloves garlic, minced; 1 teaspoon grated ginger; 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced (optional); 1 teaspoon each of ground cumin, coriander, and turmeric; 1/2 teaspoon garam masala; 1/4 teaspoon each of garam masala and turmeric; 1 pound of paneer cheese; 2 cups each of packed fresh spinach; 1 cup each of packed fresh cilantro, parsley, and mint; and 1 cup


Instructions:

1. In a big saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. 

Cook the ingredients for about 5 minutes, or until the onion is softened, including the jalapeno pepper (if using).

2. Add the turmeric, garam masala, cumin, and coriander and stir. Cook for one minute.

3. Stir together the paneer, spinach, cilantro, parsley, and mint in the pot. 

Add the water, then simmer the mixture.

4. Lower the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring periodically, or until the paneer is thoroughly heated and the spinach has wilted.

5. Purée the ingredients using an immersion blender until it is smooth. 

Alternatively, you can put the mixture in a blender, puree it until it's smooth, and 

then put it back in the saucepan.

6. Add salt to taste, then serve hot.

How to make cornbread Recipe (Makki ki Roti):



 Ingredients: 

1 cup cornbread flour 1 cup warm water salt, to taste ghee or oil, for cooking. 

Instructions:

Mix the cornbread flour and salt in a bowl. Gradually add the warm water and mix until a smooth dough forms. Knead the dough for a few minutes until it is soft and pliable. Divide the dough into small balls. Roll out each ball into a thin circle, about 6 inches in diameter. Heat a griddle or pan over medium-high heat. Place one of the dough circles on the griddle and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side, until it is lightly browned.

Repeat with the remaining dough circles. Serve the cornbread hot, with a side of your choice. You can also spread some ghee or butter on top for added flavor. Enjoy!
